Hawthorn Place is the
first development in a new community plan at the University of British
Columbia to create a diverse pedestrian oriented neighbourhood. This
first phase provides a mix of apartments and city homes that serve
as faculty and staff accommodation directly on campus. The urban
design goals include encouraging interaction between neighbours,
creating clear definitions of public and private space within the
campus environment, and making efficient use of the University’s
land resource.
