About This Project

Timber House

This multifamily housing project is located on the Fraser River waterfront of the Port Royal community. The design of this development reflects the active industrial site character, echoing local stacked shipping containers in the modular design. Underlying the project is the commitment to the structural and aesthetic potential of cross-laminated timber (CLT), with the primary goal to utilize CLT not only as the primary structure but also as interior finish, revealing structural panels and daylighting authentic interior wood surfaces. The exterior form is U-shaped, wrapping around a central green landscaped courtyard, serving as a circulation hub, providing excellent southern exposure and views of the waterfront.
